By accessing and using the website littleherobook.com (hereinafter: "the Website") and/or placing an order, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all products and services offered through the Website. We advise you to read these terms carefully before placing an order.

Little Hero Book is an online platform that allows users to create personalized children's books by uploading photos and selecting story options. We use AI technology to generate illustrated storybooks based on your inputs. After payment, you can review and edit your book online before it is sent to print and delivered to your door.

3. User Accounts

• You must sign in with a valid Google account to place an order.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account.
• You must be at least 18 years old, or have parental or guardian consent, to use the Service.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the ordering process.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Offer and Formation of Agreement

4.1 Offer

All offers on the Website are without obligation unless expressly stated otherwise. The Seller reserves the right to change prices and product specifications at any time. Obvious mistakes or errors in the offer do not bind the Seller.

4.2 Ordering Process

The Agreement is concluded at the moment the Buyer completes the ordering and payment process and receives an order confirmation by email. The Seller reserves the right to refuse or subsequently cancel an order without providing reasons, particularly if there is a suspicion that the content infringes on third-party rights or violates our Content Guidelines (see Section 11). In the event of such cancellation, the Seller is not liable for compensation.

5. Prices and Payment

5.1 Prices

All prices on the Website are listed in USD and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Shipping costs are shown separately during checkout.

5.2 Price Changes

The Seller reserves the right to change prices at any time. Price changes do not affect orders that have already been placed and confirmed.

5.3 Payment

Payment must be made via the payment methods offered on the Website. The Seller uses Stripe for secure payment processing. The order will only be processed after full payment has been received. By placing an order, you authorize us to charge the full amount to your selected payment method.

6. Book Creation & Editing

• After successful payment, our AI generates a personalized book based on your inputs (story selection, character details, photos, and dedication).
• You will have the opportunity to review the generated book online, edit page texts, and regenerate illustrations before confirming your order for printing.
• It is your responsibility to carefully review all content — including text, names, personalization details, and illustrations — before confirming the order. Errors present in the version you approve do not constitute grounds for return or refund.
• Once you click "Confirm Order," your book is sent to print and no further edits can be made.
• Your book project files are stored for a limited period of 10 weeks after creation. After this period, files are permanently deleted for privacy and storage reasons (see our Privacy Policy). Reorders are not possible after this period.

7. Delivery

7.1 Delivery Address

Delivery takes place at the address provided by the Buyer during checkout. The Seller is not responsible for failed or delayed deliveries resulting from incorrect address details provided by the Buyer.

7.2 Delivery Time

Production and delivery times are indicative — typically 7–11 business days after order confirmation — and may vary depending on your location, shipping method, and production queue. Exceeding the indicated delivery time does not entitle the Buyer to compensation.

7.3 Shipping Carriers

The Seller is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs processing, or events outside our control.

7.4 Risk upon Delivery

The risk of damage and/or loss of the book rests with the Seller until the moment of delivery to the Buyer.

8. Right of Withdrawal, Cancellation, and Returns

8.1 Exclusion of Right of Withdrawal

The Product is manufactured according to the Buyer's personal specifications and is clearly personal in nature. For this reason, the statutory right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) is excluded once production has begun.

8.2 Cancellation

An order cannot be cancelled once it has entered production at our printing facility. If you wish to cancel before production begins, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your request, but cancellation cannot be guaranteed.

8.3 Returns and Refunds

Physical books cannot be returned and are not eligible for a refund unless there is a clear production or delivery defect for which the Seller is responsible (e.g., damage during transport, serious printing errors not present in the version approved by the Buyer).

The Buyer is solely responsible for reviewing all content before confirming the order for printing. Errors that were present in the version approved by the Buyer do not constitute grounds for a return or refund.

If there is a valid defect, the Buyer must report it to the Seller within 14 days of receipt, accompanied by a clear description and photographic evidence. Upon acknowledgment of the defect, the Seller will, at its discretion, provide a free replacement. A monetary refund will only be considered if a replacement is not reasonably possible.

9. Quality and AI-Generated Content

The Buyer acknowledges that the Product is created using generative AI. Although the Seller strives for the highest possible quality, AI may produce unexpected or imperfect results in both text and illustrations. The following are not considered defects:

• Minor variations or stylistic choices in AI-generated illustrations.
• Illustrations that do not exactly match uploaded photos (AI generates artistic interpretations, not photorealistic portraits).
• Minor color deviations between on-screen display and the printed product, which are inherent to the printing process.
• Minor deviations at the edges of illustrations resulting from standard trimming during professional printing (trim margins).

Notwithstanding the above, applicable consumer protection laws apply. The Product must meet what the Buyer may reasonably expect from it given the nature of AI-generated personalized books.

10. User-Provided Content

• You retain ownership of the photos you upload.
• By uploading photos and providing other content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use them solely for the purpose of creating your personalized book and fulfilling your order.
• You confirm that you have the right to upload all submitted photos and content, that the individuals depicted have given their consent (or parental/guardian consent for minors), and that the content does not infringe on the rights of any third party.
• You are solely responsible for all content, images, and textual instructions provided to the AI. You warrant that this content is not unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate.
• You fully indemnify the Seller against all claims, fines, and costs from third parties arising from infringing or unlawful material provided at your request.

11. Content Guidelines

It is expressly forbidden to upload photos or provide instructions that:

• Are illegal, threatening, defamatory, hateful, or sexually explicit.
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of third parties (e.g., commissioning copyrighted characters, protected brand logos, or trademarked figures).
• Depict individuals without their consent (or parental/guardian consent for minors).
• Are intended for commercial resale or redistribution.

The Seller reserves the right to immediately cancel orders that do not comply with these guidelines, block the account involved, and recover any resulting damages from the Buyer. In the event of cancellation due to a violation of these guidelines, the Seller is not liable for any compensation.

12. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights regarding the Website, its software, design, text, graphics, logos (excluding materials uploaded by the Buyer), and the underlying AI models and algorithms, rest with the Seller or its licensors.

After full payment, the Buyer acquires a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the personalized printed book for personal, non-commercial purposes. The Buyer is not permitted to reproduce (beyond reasonable personal use), publish, sell, or otherwise commercially exploit the Product without the prior written consent of the Seller.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Seller's liability is limited to direct damage and to a maximum of the purchase price of the Product to which the liability relates. The Seller is not liable for indirect damage, including consequential damage, lost profits, or intangible damage.

The Seller is not liable for minor deviations in color, quality, or execution of the Product, nor for dissatisfaction with the AI's artistic interpretation, provided the Product substantially corresponds with the personalization input and choices provided by the Buyer.

These limitations of liability do not apply if the damage is due to willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Seller.

14. Privacy and Data Protection

The Seller processes personal data of the Buyer in accordance with applicable privacy legislation. Uploaded photos are used solely to create your personalized book and are deleted after the project retention period (10 weeks). 15. Force Majeure

The Seller is not obliged to fulfill any obligation towards the Buyer if it is hindered from doing so due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, strikes, supply chain disruptions, or failures of third-party services (including printing partners or shipping carriers).

16. Changes to Terms

The Seller reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. The most current version is always available on the Website. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The terms in force at the time an Agreement was concluded remain applicable to that Agreement.

17. Applicable Law and Disputes

These terms and all Agreements are governed by applicable law. In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter amicably.
