Dinosaur Valley Herd
A brachiosaurus, a stegosaurus and a triceratops share a green valley while a pterodactyl glides over the volcano behind them.
Five hand-drawn dinosaur scenes to print and colour: a valley herd, a roaring T-Rex, an erupting volcano, prehistoric sea monsters and a feathered jungle. One easy enough for a three-year-old, one hard enough for a grown-up. Click any sheet to print it full page, or download the file to keep.
A brachiosaurus, a stegosaurus and a triceratops share a green valley while a pterodactyl glides over the volcano behind them.
A roaring T-Rex strides through the jungle past a stegosaurus, a triceratops and a long-necked brachiosaurus, with a waterfall and a volcano behind.
A volcano erupts behind a T-Rex, a triceratops and a stegosaurus, with pterosaurs circling through the ash clouds.
A spinosaurus hunts underwater alongside a giant armoured fish, with ichthyosaurs, ammonites and squid among the coral.
A bird’s-eye view over a prehistoric jungle river, with feathered dinosaurs gliding between the treetops and ferns.

Five scenes: a peaceful valley herd, a roaring T-Rex, an erupting volcano, prehistoric sea monsters and a feathered jungle.
Print sends just the drawing, full page, nothing else. Download gives you the full-resolution file to keep.
Crayons, pencils or felt tips on heavier paper. Print as many copies as you need. There is no limit.
Most dinosaur colouring sheets online are one of two things: a single cartoon dinosaur floating on an empty page, or a download that wants an email address first and hands you a watermarked image at the end. These five are full scenes, drawn at print resolution, and they are simply here. Click a sheet, press Print, and the drawing goes to your printer full page with the rest of the site hidden.
The set is deliberately spread across abilities rather than aimed at one age. The volcano sheet is drawn with the biggest, simplest shapes we could give it; the feathered jungle has no large empty area on it at all. Between those two extremes sit the valley herd, the T-Rex jungle and the underwater scene, which is usually the one that surprises people, because it is the sheet children have never seen before.
Difficulty in a colouring page comes down to the size of the smallest enclosed shape. A three-year-old needs big areas and clear boundaries; a nine-year-old finds those boring and wants somewhere to be precise. The five sheets sit roughly like this:
Dinosaur obsession is one of the most useful phases a child goes through. Researchers call it an intense interest, and children in the middle of one demonstrably build bigger vocabularies and longer attention spans than their peers, largely because they are voluntarily learning and repeating ten-syllable words nobody made them learn.
Colouring feeds it, because a child spends several minutes looking closely at one animal. Name the dinosaur while they work on it: the plates down its back, the three horns, the sail on the spinosaurus. By the time the page is finished, they usually own the name for good, and they will correct you on it for years afterwards.
A stack of dinosaur sheets and a tub of crayons is the cheapest thing on any party plan and reliably the first thing children sit down to. Print one per place setting, or print the same sheet for everyone and pin the finished ones up in a row. Ten children colour one T-Rex ten startlingly different ways. Folded into quarters in a bag with three pencils, a colouring page is also the most reliable twenty minutes of quiet you can buy for nothing.
If your house is at the stage where everything is a dinosaur, the name coloring page generator prints their name as giant bubble letters to colour, and the photo to coloring page tool turns any picture on your phone into line art without uploading it anywhere. When they are ready to write rather than colour, the free name tracing worksheets build a handwriting sheet from the same name, and there are five free unicorn coloring pages for whoever else is in the house.
All of this is free because of what we actually make: personalized children’s books where your own child is the hero, illustrated from their photo, with their name printed through the whole story. If dinosaurs are the current obsession, a personalized birthday book lands rather harder than another pack of printables.
Yes. All five sheets are free, with no account, no email and no watermark. Print one, print the set, print thirty copies of the T-Rex for a party. We make personalized storybooks for children, and free printables are how most families find us.
Open the sheet you want and press Print. The page hides everything except the drawing and sends one full-page sheet to your printer. If you would rather keep the file, press Download and you get the full-resolution image to print later or take to a copy shop.
The erupting volcano sheet. The volcano and its smoke clouds are enormous simple shapes with clear edges, and the T-Rex, triceratops and stegosaurus below are drawn plainly with no surface pattern to stay inside. It is the only one of the five we would put in front of a three-year-old.
Two. The underwater sea dinosaurs sheet is dense with reef detail and scales, and the feathered dinosaur jungle is drawn in fine line work seen from above with no large empty areas anywhere on it. That one suits nine and up, or a parent who wants a page of their own.
Tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops, stegosaurus, a long-necked brachiosaurus, pterosaurs, a sail-backed spinosaurus, a giant armoured Dunkleosteus, ichthyosaurs and feathered raptors. Between the five sheets you get the four every child names first, plus the sea and feathered ones they usually have not met.
Both. The drawings are tall portrait images with the margin built in, so they scale to either paper size without cropping. Choose "Fit to page" in your print dialog if your printer offers it.
Yes. Press Print, then pick "Save as PDF" as the destination in your browser print dialog instead of a printer. That is also the easiest way to send a sheet to a grandparent to print at their end.
Yes. Teachers, childminders, homeschool parents and party hosts are welcome to print as many copies as they need. The only thing we ask is that you link back to this page rather than re-hosting the files or selling them.
Plain printer paper is fine for crayons and coloured pencils. For felt tips or markers, use the heaviest paper your printer will take and slide a spare sheet underneath, or the colour bleeds through onto the table.
