Your coloring page appears here
Upload a photo to see it turn into black-and-white outlines.
Nothing is uploaded. The whole conversion happens in your browser, so it works on a slow connection too.
From Camera Roll to Colouring Table
No account, no watermark, no limit on how many you make.
Upload a photo
Choose a picture from your device or drag one in. It is converted on your own device and never sent to us.
Tune the lines
Pick bold lines for toddlers or fine detail for older children, then nudge the detail and thickness sliders.
Print or download
Print it straight away on plain paper, save it as a PDF, or download the PNG to send to a grandparent.
The Photo Never Leaves Your Device
Most photo to coloring page converters upload your picture to a server, run something on it, and send an image back. That means a photograph of your child sitting on somebody else’s machine, under somebody else’s retention policy.
This one does the whole conversion in your browser, on your own hardware. There is no upload step, no queue and no account, which is also why it is instant and why it keeps working if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
It is a deliberate trade. A server with a large model could invent detail that is not in your photo; this traces what is actually there. For a page a four-year-old is going to cover in crayon, we think clean outlines and a photo that stays yours is the better deal.
No upload, no storage
Your picture is read into the page and converted with your device’s own processor.
Instant, every time
Nothing queues behind other people’s jobs, so the sliders update the page as you drag them.
Free without a catch
No credits, no sign-up wall after the third page, no watermark across the artwork.
Six Personalized Coloring Pages to Make Today
The photos already on your phone are the best source material you have.
Your own child, coloured in
A personalized coloring page of the child themselves is the one they actually finish. Recognising your own face in outline is a small thrill at four years old.
The family pet
Pets convert beautifully because the silhouette is strong and familiar. Use Simplify to keep fur texture from taking over the page.
Party favours
Custom coloring pages of the birthday child, printed as a stack, keep a table of small guests busy for longer than anything else you can put in a party bag.
Holiday keepsakes
Turn the holiday photo into a coloring page while the memory is fresh, and the colouring-in becomes the retelling of the trip.
Grandparents far away
Send the PNG and they can print it at their end. A page they coloured together over video call beats another toy.
Quiet time that is not a screen
Ten minutes of setup gives you a stack of printable pages for the car, the restaurant, or the waiting room.
Which Photos Turn Into Good Coloring Pages
The converter can only trace what the camera actually captured. Choosing well beats any amount of slider fiddling afterwards.
One subject, filling the frame
× A group shot from across the room
Every face has to survive being shrunk to a few lines. One close subject stays recognisable; six distant ones become confetti.
Even, bright light
× Harsh midday sun or a dim room
Deep shadow reads as a shape and gets traced as one, so half a face turns into a black blob. Overcast daylight or a window is ideal.
A plain, uncluttered background
× A patterned sofa or a busy park
Background texture competes with your subject for lines. If you cannot avoid it, raise Simplify until the background drops away.
Clear separation from the backdrop
× A dark coat against a dark wall
The converter finds outlines by contrast. When subject and background are the same brightness there is no edge to find.
Make Your Own Coloring Page From Any Photo
Printable coloring pages are everywhere, and they are all of somebody else’s unicorn. A custom coloring page made from your own photo is a different thing entirely: the child recognises the dog, the birthday cake, the day at the beach, and colours it in with a proprietary interest no downloaded pack can buy.
The converter works by comparing every part of the picture with the area around it and keeping only the parts that are meaningfully darker than their surroundings. That is what separates an outline from a shadow, so faces, edges and silhouettes become lines while skies, walls and flat jumpers stay white and colourable. It is also why photos with clear shapes and even light convert so much better than dim, cluttered ones.
Three controls do the rest. Detail decides how faint a line can be and still make it onto the page. Simplify throws away texture such as grass, hair and patterned fabric, which is usually what makes a page look too busy. Line thickness fattens everything up for younger children, because a two-year-old with a fat crayon needs a boundary they can actually see.
When the Photo Deserves More Than a Colouring Sheet
The same photo that makes a good coloring page makes a better storybook. We turn a picture of your child into a personalized book with their photo, illustrated throughout, with them as the hero and their name printed all the way through the story. It is the version of this idea that survives being read four hundred times.
If you are printing for a child who is also learning to write, our free name tracing worksheets and handwriting worksheet generator are free too, and print on the same plain paper.
Photo to Coloring Page Questions
Is this photo to coloring page converter free?
Yes, and there is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. Make as many custom coloring pages as you like. We make personalized storybooks for children, and this converter is free for the families who find us.
Do you upload or keep my photos?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser using your own device, so the photo never reaches our servers and there is nothing for us to store, see or delete. You can even turn off your connection once the page has loaded and it still works.
What kind of photo works best?
Clear shapes, good light and a subject that fills the frame. A close-up of one child, a pet, or a single object gives a much better coloring page than a busy group shot taken from a distance. Bright, even light beats harsh shadow, and a plain background keeps the lines clean.
Can I make the lines thicker for a toddler?
Yes. The "Bold" line style thickens every line and drops the fine detail, which is what you want for ages two to four when crayons are wide and staying inside the lines is still ambitious. "Fine" keeps far more detail for older children.
Can I turn a photo of my child into a coloring page?
Yes, and it is the most popular thing people do here. A close-up portrait in even light converts well. Bear in mind that a coloring page is an outline drawing, not a portrait, so expect a recognisable likeness rather than a photographic one.
How do I print or save it?
Click "Print coloring page" and choose your printer, or pick "Save as PDF" in the print dialog to keep a copy. There is also a "Download PNG" button if you want the image on its own to send to someone else.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Upload straight from your camera roll and the page converts on the phone itself. Printing from a phone works through your usual print or share sheet, or you can download the PNG and print it later.
Why does my coloring page look too busy or too empty?
Use the Detail and Simplify sliders. Too busy usually means the photo has a lot of texture such as grass, hair or patterned fabric, so raise Simplify to drop it. Too empty usually means low contrast, so raise Detail. Most photos land well within a couple of nudges.
