Count the candles together and colour that many in a bright colour, leaving the rest pale. It turns the sheet into their cake rather than a cake, and it is the easiest personalisation there is.

The drawing is a tall portrait image at print resolution, so it fits A4 and US Letter without cropping. If your printer offers a “Fit to page” or “Scale to fit” option, use it. Plain paper is fine for crayons and coloured pencils; if your child works in felt tips, print on the heaviest paper your printer takes and put a spare sheet underneath, because markers go through ordinary 80gsm paper and mark the table.

Printing two copies is worth it. The second is for when the first goes wrong, which prevents a surprising amount of upset.
