Colouring and Printing This One

Do the presents first. They are the biggest shapes on the sheet and the most satisfying to finish, which sets the tone for the fiddlier cupcakes above.

The drawing is a tall portrait image at print resolution, so it fits A4 and US Letter without cropping. If your printer offers a “Fit to page” or “Scale to fit” option, use it. Plain paper is fine for crayons and coloured pencils; if your child works in felt tips, print on the heaviest paper your printer takes and put a spare sheet underneath, because markers go through ordinary 80gsm paper and mark the table.

Printing two copies is worth it. The second is for when the first goes wrong, which prevents a surprising amount of upset.
